Poems

I still see you in my mind's eyes,

Frolicking on my emerald lawn.

Pacing down the driveway,

My heart knows that you are long gone.

You, a furry ball of black,

A bundle of love on four legs.

With a wet nose and a mane,

Weighed in kilos but the attitude of a lion.

Did we bring you home,

Or you were sent here.

To mend my broken heart,

By someone unseen superior.

You filled my dry house with love,

which I had started hating it as nasty.

You watched our back and showered love endless,

That sought no return or tested our sincerity.

Your last shirk still rings in my ear,

In the dead silence of the night.

Fogging my eyes and choking me up,

With sadness and guilt.

Now anything that glues my parts,

Mends my broken limbs.

I search for you in each of them,

To find you my dear Mikey again to radiate bliss.
