After seeing the world for 48 summers and spending umpteen hours on the keyboard to give words to your wisdom, its gets progressively difficult to suppress the author in you. Even if others dont take you seriously, you do not want to miss out on the residual chances of pampering yourself.
So here is my attempt to publish my thoughts in the wide world of web log. Hope my maiden journey doesn't remain solitary for long.
You insisted that that was not a sin,
Wore that extra toe ring as proof of your acceptance.
Our secret betrothal was enough to clear our guilt,
And accept it as our parallel life and not as a happenstance.
You never lie, so you claimed,
I believed and we lived in,
The bubble of love and pleasure,
Which the world terms as sin.
After years, when we would find ourselves sitting,
around the fire in a place where no one dies.
All the sinners from this world would not speak,
Of their past, as it’s too well-known to lie.
There also you would say what you are saying now,
That you never did any wrong deed or sinned.
I will stand silently perplexed to say if your lying was the sin,
Or the acts all thought you never did were the sin.
